THE WELLINGTON MANAWATU RAILWAY.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday. The balance-sheet of the Wellington-Mana-watu Railway Company shows the gro33 revenue for the year as £93,622 15s Id, of which the railway earned £71,814 4s lid, and the balance of £21,808 10a 2d is derived from the sale of land, and interest from purchasers of land previously sold. In their report the directors regret that no steps have been taken by the general Government to give effect to the report of the Parliamentary committee of the year 1889, recommending relief in respect of £6160 143 Id, the amount of property tax and local rates levied on the company during the year. '
