A STAMP DUTY CASE.
[BY telegraph.mass ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday. Judgment in a case in which the executors of the, late Mr. James Coutts Crawford appealed against the imposition of stamp duty on marriagesettlemontof £4000 was given by the Chief Justice. His Honor decided that the duty was payable, bub that the applicants should not be called upon to pay costs, owing to the ambiguous terms of the Act.
