SAN FRANCISCO MAIL SERVICE
r BY TELEGRAPH. — SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Monday. With reference to tho alteration of the San Francisco mail timetable, to which I referred yesterday, by which three days would be saved in the transmission of mails, I understand that one day will be saved between Auckland and San Francisco and two days between the latter port and London. This arrangement refers to the despatch of the mails from this colony and not to those from England, which have already been similarly accelerated. The new arrangement comes into force with the mail which left Wellington on Saturday and Auckland to-day.
