THE UNIONIST SPECIAL SETTLERS.
(BY TELEGRAPH.OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Thursday. The deputation of unionists, under Mr. R. Seymour, who proceeded to the Forty-mile Bush to inspect the block of land available for a labour special settlement, report favourably of the suitability of the land. They recommend that the suggestion of Mr. H. 1). Bell, in one of his speeches, should be adopted, viz., that a portion of the bush should be felled by the Government, the cost to be made a charge upon the settlement. Mr. Bell has been invited to elaborate his suggestion. It is believed that Mr. Bell will obtain a portion of the labour vote, if he undertakes to recommend his proposal to Parliament.
