THE ELTON HARBOUR BOARD.

[by telegraph.—PßESS association.] istciiiich, Wednesday. The Lyttelton Harbour Board to-day accepted the tender of W. Smith, of Christchurch, £'2965, for the erection of a building for cool storage of dairy produce. The Board decided nob to engage labour for their sheds through the recently formed Stevedoring Association, but to revert to present system of the foreman hiring any man he wishes. The Railway Commissioners having refused to give up possession of. the grain export shed, the Harbour Board have placed tho matter in the hands of their solicitors, Harper and Co.
