Consols, 95 New Zealand 4 per cent inscribed stock, 106 i-; New Zealand 3 ; V per cent, 96i. Three months' bills are quoted at 3£ per cent. Adelaide wheat is flat at 38s 3d, and Victorian weaker at 37s 6d. New Zealand long - berried is also weaker at 375. Chili copper, £61. Tin, £97 10s. . No. 1 best Scotch pig iron, f.0.b., in Clyde, 50s. Sugar: German beet, restricted at 14s ; Java, IGs, nominal. The Bank of England returns published to-day shows the total reserve in notes and bullion to be £13,994,000, being a decrease of £220,000 as compared with that of last week. The proportion of reserve to liabilities is 45.48. Owing to the unfavourable report of the crop yield issued by the Agricultural Bureau, the American wheat market has advanced. The English market and Continental are firmer, despite the tine weather. Per New Zealand Loan ami Mercantile Agency Co. London, September 12. Tallow : Market strong ; the continental demand has increased ; good mutton tallow is worth 27s 3d per ewfc. Fkozen Mkat : There is a rather better demand. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth, per carcase, 4Jd per lb ; New Zealand beef, forequarters, is worth 2fd per lb. Other quotations unchanged since last! telegram.
