VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.

The return carbine match "A" Battery '2nd team v. Ponsonby Navals Ist team, was fired on Saturday last at the Mount Eden butts, the ranges being 200, .'SOO and 500 yards, seven shots at each distance. The shooting was not as good as usual owing to the different lights and changeable winds. The !N avals secured a good lead at 200 and 300 yards, but dropped away at 000 yards, and finally winning by 18 points. The battery team was captained by Bom.
