[BY TBT.BGRAPH. I»RKSS ASSOCIATION.] Christchukcii, Friday. In Chambers this morning Mr. Justice Dennisrton dismissed with three guineas casts a motion to commit W. H. Speakman, solicitor, to prison for contempt of court, for having, as was alleged, written to two persons who had made affidavits as to the character of Mrs. W. Duncan, in the case of Duncan, requesting them to furnish the names of their solicitors that he might serve them with a writ for slander.
