COLONEL FRASER, M.H.R., AND HIS CONSTITUENTS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN" CORRESPONDENT.] Thames, Friday. Colonel Frasee, M.H.R. for the Thames, addressed his constituents in the Academy of Music last evening. There was a fair attendance, and' Mr. McAndrew (Mayor) presided. Colonel Fraser dealt principally with the measures of last session, especially those affecting this district, and, referring to the gold duty question, said he would make it permissive for the North Island. He congratulated the miners upon the formation of a local branch of the Miners' Union, and wished them every success. At the close he received a vote of thanks and confidence.
