KEEN BIDDING FOR A BANKRUPT ESTATE.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Oamaku, Friday. A peculiar incident occurred at a meeting of creditors, to-day. At a previous meeting, the sum of £250 was conditionally accepted for the estate, but since an offer of £300 had been received. The creditors were considering this when the party who made the first, offered £305. By offers of £5 and then £1, the amount was raised to £320, when the Deputy Assignee stopped the bids by adjourning the meeting, in order to take the Judge's ruling on a point that had cropped up.
