« OPINIONS OF THE AMERICAN AND ENGLISH PRESS. New York, January 23. The American press complains that the views of Germany dominate the Samoan Convention Treaty, and that Malietoa is only to be a figurehead at Samoa. London, January 24. In the course of an article on the Samoan Treaty, the Times says "Its adoption will secure to England only a fair field and no favour in Samoa."
