The annual examination of the several . classes held at the School of Mines during , the past twelve months commences on Monday next, and will continue throughout the week. At their completion, Mr. Park in- - tends leaving for Coromandel, where he will spend several weeks in examining the mineral resources of that district. • A meeting of fishermen was held* last evening to consider the desirability or otherwise of joining the Fishermen's Co-opera-tive Association, now in course of formation in Auckland t under the auspices of the Knights of Labour. There -were about twenty present, and Mr. G. Reddish occupied the chair. .After disoussing the pro-, epeotus of the Association and the principles of co-operation, it was unanimously; agreed that all present' would join the Association by taking up shares, jjrovided they were satisfied with details. It was also decided to invite: Mr. -Farnall; bhe secretary, ,to visit the Thames, > for the purpose of farther explaining matters. ■
