AUCKLAND EXHIBITS AT THE PARIS EXHIBITION.

In the catalogue of the Universal International Exhibition at Paris, we are pleased to notice that some of our most promising local manufacturers and industries are represented. The Onehunga Ironworks Company occupy a prominent position with raw material and manufactured goods. First, we note an exhibit of ironaand, of which there are millions' of tons available ; next, a piece of calcined ironsand, and then the process complete, in some excellent specimens of pig iron made at Oriehunya. They have an exhibit of fireclay, then the manufactured lire-bricks, arid to prove the quality of the fire-bricks, they have exhibited one which had been for eighteen months in the roof of the furnace, in which was heated over 2000 tons of ir<sn. In addition to the foregoing they also show specimens of iron ore and limestone, all from the Auckland district. In the flax exhibits, it is pleasant to note that this district heads the list in quality of material. Two specimens from Auckland district are valued in London at £36 10s and £,'J7 per ton respectively; two specimens from the Wellington district are valued in London at £35 and £35 10s per ton respectively; and two specimens from the Canterbury district are valued in London at £34 10s and £35 j>er ton respectively. All these exhibits of New Zealand hemp were imported and exhibited by W. Weddelland Co., London. It is gratifying to note that our raw products and manufactured goods have been placed before the leading manufacturers of the world. The prominence given to the great natural resource;-) and capabilities of this colony by proper representation in the (Trent Exhibitions of the world, held in Loudon, Paris, find other large cities, will bo of incalculable benefit to the colony.
