THE FROZEN MEAT TRADE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PIiESS ASSOCIATION*.] Dunedin, Wednesday. The returns of frozen meat exported from Otago for the year ending December 31 show a total of 16,33-1,1691b5. There were 255,639 carcases of mutton, 17,846 lambs, and 3379 beef. This shows an increase of nearly 100 per cent, in a little over two years. The number of sheep from Port Chalmers was 143,388 ; lambs, 3047 ; quarters beef, 1100. From Oauiaru, sheep, 75,976; lambs, 9925; quarters beef, 710. From the Blufi', sheep, 36,275; lambs, 3574 ; quarters beef, 1213.
