One speaker declared that the United States cared nothing for the British Navy, whilst another condemned the colonial and foreign policy of England, whose interference lately in several matters had brought her into unenviable, prominence. The speaker last referred to coun« selled the House to deal with the Dominion of Canada, and ignore Britain in arriving at a settlement of the question.
