[BY TELEGRAPH. —SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.] Wellington, Sunday. A painful accident, happened to the Hon. Mr, Fergus, Defence Minister, last evening. He was having a bath at the Parliamentary Buildings, when in reaching his right hand over his head sharply, it struck a gas globe, breaking it. The fractured glass cut his wrist severely, and the blood spurted out freely. He called out to oho occupant of the next bath, Dr. Fitchett, to take his handkerchief to make a tourniquet togjfcep the bleeding, but Dr. Pollen being in the neighbourhood, his services were called in, and he affixed the tourniquet. Subsequently Dr. Grace came and attended Mr. Fergus , injuries. To-day Mr. Fergus feels' better, though the wrist and hand are con-' siderably swollen. It is supposed some of the nerves or tendons are injured, as he cannot move the fourth and fifth fingers, and it will be some little time before he will be übiety use bis hand.
