The clipper little schooner Halatoa cleared out on Saturday afternoon with a quantity of bricks, produce, and groceries for Whangaroa, where she will fill up with timber, and sail shortly for Tonga, Haabai, etc. She goes under \he charge of Captain R. Sopwith. On Saturday night the ITnion S.S. Co.'s regular Eaet Coast trader Suva arrived in port from her usual fortnightly trip. Mr. Dale, purser, reports that the Suva left Wellington at 5 p.m. on the 26th, and .arrived in Napier at 5 p.m. on the 27th ; left |gain at 5 p.m. on the 28th, and arrived in ■tiisborne at 4 a.m. on the 29th; left at 9.30 a.m., called at Tologa Bay, Tuparoa, and Hick's Bay, and arrived as above. She experienced strong S.E. winds and heavy sea irom Wellington to Napier, thence light winds and heavy easterly swell to Last Cape, thence fine weather to arrival. Yesterday morning early the s.s. Clansman arrived from Tauranga, with general cargo and a number of passengers. The Te Anau, from Melbourne, left Gisborne yesterday for this port at 10a.m., and should, therefore, arrive about 11 o'clock this forenoon. Notice was given yesterday forenoon of the approach of a origantine, and about 2 o'clock the Oamaru, Captain Richards, from INiewcastle, put in an appearance round the North Head, and anchored. She left Newcastle on the 21st June, with strong westerly winds, which carried her to the Now Zealand coast. [The Three Kings were passed on the 27v,b, and Cape Brett was abeam three days later, light southerly winds prevailing down the coast. At 11 a.m. yesterday the Oamaru was abreast of Tiri—the wind being fresh from the westward—and harbour was made as above. The Oamaru brings two passengers, and a fnll cargo of coal for the Auckland Gas Company. The American barque Essex, Captain Schaube, has nearly completed her loading for New York, and will probably sail this tve'ek. An announcement in another column, mentions that there is accommodation for two passengers in the barque ; applications to be made before to-morrow. A good chance to merchants and other shippers to the Upper Thames of securing cheap freight is offered by the agents of the schooner Margaret, which sails to-night for Paeroa direct. She has room for about 120 tons cargo, and early application is necessary to secure space. Yesterday forenooa a "barque outside Tiri" was signalled from the Mount Victoria station, but as she subsequently passed out of sight, the vessel was probably' the Killarney making her way outwards from the Thames or a timber barque from Mercury Bay. About half-past seven yesterday evening the s.s. Douglas arrived from the Bay of Plenty ports, \vith seven passengers and a full cargo of maize, pigs, and sheep. Hie Jubilee S.S. Co.'s Stormbird was floated into dock on Saturday to receive her periodical cleaning. Haviuj? had a complete overhaul, the s.s. lona will resume her running to-day, sailing tor Mercury Bay and Tauranga at 5 p.m.
