ROBBERY FROM AN HOTEL.
A most impudent robbery took place on Saturday evening from the Naval and Family Hotel, corner of Pitt-street and Karangahape Road, under tho following circumstances. Mr. Patrick Brodio, the licensee of the hotel, had been in the habit of keeping the money taken in that hotel in a drawer in his bedroom for safety, and placing it there as it accumulated. This drawer was kept locked, and was one of a largo chest of drawers. Mr. Brodio was in his bedroom at about half-past seven o'clock on Saturday night, arid saw the money there. When no went up with the night's takings at about ten o'clock the money was gone. Mr. Brodie at once reported the robbery to Detective McGrath, and that gentleman and Detective Tuohy immediately took tho case up, and from information received and indications they got, arrested two men named William Noble and James Stewart alias Stoddart for the robbery. Both denied any knowledge of tho matter. Wo learn the money has been recovered, or tho greater part of it, only tho ehequos being lost. Both men will bo brought up before the Court this morning.
