THE NEW PLYMOUTH CHURCH DISPUTE.

[by telegraph.—γ-rkss association.] New Plymouth, Monday. An important case was heard at the Police Court to-day, in which MoseaS. Breach was charged with malicious injury to the Presbyterian Church by removing the lock from the door and replacing it with another. The defence was that Breach did ib under the belief that he had a reasonable claim for salary upon the building. The amount of ealary claimed wae £1300. Defondanb admitted that he had not asserted his claim previously, although he had ceased to be miniHter of the church for fivo yeara. Tho office-bearers repudiate bhe claim. After hearing a large number of witnesses, judgment was reserved until to-morrow.
