FIRE AT BLENHEIM.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Blenhxim, Tuesday. A n&E broke out at midnight in Wills's ironmongery store, Market - street South. The whole of tho building was gutted. By great efforts the brigade managed to confine the fire to tho building, though on two or three occasions it spread to places adjoining. Mr. Wills had beon giving up business, and Mr. Hoyhoe, draper, was to have removed into his shop to-morrow. Nothing is known as to the origin of the fire. The correct insurances are :—Wills, ironmonger : building, Phoonix, £800; stock, Norwich Union £300, Equitable £200. Howard, cabinetmaker : building, Phoenix £850; stock, Union, £140. Yard, bookseller : stock, Norwich Union £200, Now Zealand £250. Burns, Marlboro Timee: plant and stock, Norwich Union, £500 ; North German, £200; Royal, £320. Rose, grocer: stock and furniture, Union, £150. Srnale and Hay, draper's building, including Rose'a shop, New Zealand, £50; stock, Union £300, Equitable £250; Colonial £500, Standard £500, (£2-10 reinsured in Union, making £760 in that oflice), North Gorman £250. A meeting of the Fire Insurance Association this morning decided that Smale and Hay should take stock back to their premisos. It is difficult to dotormino what the actual lose in. When they lately took Btock they had over £3000 worth in the premises. Rose estimates his lows at £100. Howard at several hundreds, and wa» going to take out another policy on the ntock today in the London and Lancashire. Card estimates his loss at £150 to £200. Tho Timee' loss is considerable. Had it not been for tho great exertions of tho Fire Brigade the whole block must have been burnt down. Wille , building was completely gutted, but only email damage was done to Smale and Hay e (rear of Ro6©*B).
