EXPENDITURE ON SCHOOL BUILDINGS.
to the EDITOR. Sir,—Many thanks for your article this morning upon the wasteful expenditure on our wooden match boxes of scnools in this provincial district. I have it on the authority of Mr. Edward Bartley, one of our best architects in this city, that for the expenditure of another ten per cent, upon the cost, our school buildings could have been all substantially built in brick, and thue have lasted for all time. I mentioned this fact) to one of the members of the Education Board some time ago, but such trivial matters are, I suppose, beneath notice.—l am, &c., C. Williamson.
