NARROW ESCAPE FROM A FEARFUL
DEATH. [BY TELECiRAPII. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Hamilton, Saturday. Mrs. D. Elliott had a narrow esca{>e from being burned to death to-day. She was busy about tho kitchen stove when her dress caught lire. Mr. E. J. Dickey and Mr. Barton happened to bo in Munro's blacksmith's shop opposite All-. Elliott's house, and saw her rush in flames to the door. Mr. Dickey with great presence of mind seized hold of some sacking lying near, and wrapped it round the unfortunate lady. Mrs. Elliott is considerably burned about the hands, but not seriously injured.
