Melbourne, December 18. The return cricket match, Shaw-Liliy white's team v. Victoria was continued to-day, the weather being fine and the attendance again poor. The wicket was rather lumpy. Briggs and Shrewsbury, the not outs of the previous day, resumed their innings, the former added 36 to his score before he was disposed of, Shrewsbury being done with when his score reached 232. The innings closed for 624 runs, the individual scores —Read, 38; Ullyett, 29 ; Shrewsbury, 232 (during his innings he only gave two chances) ; Lohmann, 25 ; Brain, 118 ; Briggs, 75 ; Docker, 48 ; Smith, 0 ; Pougher, 0 ; Preston, 22 ; Pilling, not out, 1. The Victorians being 556 behind their opponents then went in for their second innings, but wore all disposed of for 100 runsHoran (49) being the print clpal scorer. The Englishmen thus won the match by an innings with 455 runs to spare.
