SUPREME COURT.—Judge's Chambers* Friday. [Before His Honor Mr. Justice Gillies.] Administration.Mr. Cave mov?d that letters of administration be granted in the estate of James Burden. His Honor post* poned the application, in order that an affidavit; might be filed, shotting the reason why administration had nob been taken out sooner, the death having occurred in 1872. In the estate of James Hooper Kerr, leave wan granted to register letter* of administration,

French v. Kbddell.—Mr. Barton moved that a charging order nisi in this case be made absolute. The order was granted.

Admission to the Bab.— the motion of Mr. Dufaur Mr. Charles Edward MacCormioh (law clerk) was admitted and enrolled a solicitor of the Supreme Court.

POLICE COURT.—FRIDAY. [Before Messrs. Wilding and Collins, J.P.'s.]

Drunkenness.— men were fined 5s and costs for a first offence, and William Montgomery, against whom were several previous convictions, was fined £5 and costs, or in default seven days' imprisonment.

Obstructing the Roadway. — Nock Speeehley was charged with obstructing the roadway in Albert-street by leaving a hay waggon standing thereon on the 4th instant. M W. F. Back land appeared for defendant, and pleaded not guilty. Constable Hansen stated that a line of carts were drawn up on the roadway and were blocking the traffic. He asked defendant to move and he refused. Defendant stated he had shifted when told to do so by the constable. Mr. Buckland stated that the defendant had not caused any wilful obstruction, and the Bench imposed a fine of la and costs. Samuel Boyanfc and Thomas Dixon for similar offences were mulcted in the same amount.

Obscene Language. — Robert Sullivan was charged with being drunk and disorderly and using obsoene language at Lucas' Creek, on 6th December. Constable O'Brien proved the offence, and the Bench fined accused 20s and costs for the first charge, and sentenced him to a month's imprisonment for the second.

Assault. —A oharge against two children named Frank and Louis Simmonds, of assaulting Agnes Smerdon by throwing stones at her, was adjourned till the 19 th instant, in order that the parents of accused might procure counsel for the defence.

Withdrawn.—A charge against Henry G. Payne, of wilfully driving over a railway crossing when au engine was not more than a quarter-mile distant, was withdrawn, as it was proved that Mr. Payne was not the driver of the vehicle in which the breach of the regulations was committed. Mr, T. Cooper appeared for the Railway Department, ana Mr. Cotter for the aefenoe.
