A SAD ACCIDENT.
i (BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION. | Christchcrch, Friday. On Monday last a toy named Beck, nine years old, was playing on a bank by the 'roadside at Porter's Pass, and a labourer 'aimed Jones was picking shingle from the side of the back, when the top suddenly gave way under the child's feet, and as he fell he was struck on the head by the pick, ,He lingered till yesterday, when he died.
