A SHAM DETECTIVE IN FEMALE ATTIRE.
Albury, September 12, By the express train from Melbourne on Saturday night, a passenger attired at a female arrived in Albury and pat up at the Koyal Hotel, being shown to a room by a daughter of the landlord, Subieqaently he admitted that he was not a female, and laid that he had steamed the disguise as he wai a detective. Information was given to the police, and the pseudo detective was arrested just prior to his departure by the Sydney train on .Sunday afternoon. He was then in male attire,and on being taken to the lock-up he said that hie name was George Kusiell Theastry, but the police have reason to believe taat he also went -uder the name of Danford. In answer to the charge he »id he bad only adopted the female attire " for a lark." He added that he was a native of America, a midshipman. In his boxes were found a quantity of female attire " make ups." lie had a large sum of money in his possession. He was charged with impersonating a police detective, and re« manded until Wednesday, The police say that Theascry closely resembles a man foi whose arrest a warrant ie in existence.
