The City Engineer has suggested to the Council that the Inapeotor of Police should be asked to instruct the constables on dut. in the vicinity of theatres and other plaoee of amusement to inspect the same every nigh v daring a performance, in order to see that the main doors, and escape doors, and passages are kept open, and ready for immediate use in case of any .panio arising.
