IBY TELEGRAPH.— PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Napier, Thursday. An inquest was held yesterday on the body of Lars Andersen, who was found dead the day before near Takapau, ou Ruatamaha Plains. The evidence showed that ou Monday laat the deceased and his wife went to Takapau, in order that the latter might take the train. Meeting some friends, deceased discussed politics, and from half-past nine a.m. until one p.m. drank eleven whiskies, and then got ou hia horse. It was noticed that he wan unsteady, and he was last seen trotting smartly away about two p.m. Mr. Honberg, Wesleyan missionary, coming from Makaritu, where deceased lived, saw deceased lying ou the ground about half a mile from Takapau, having fallen from his horse and broken his neck. Audersen, with his wife and family, settled at Makaritu some thirteen years ago, and wa3 fairly well off. Monday was tbe first occasion in all those years that Mre. Anderson had left Che busu to take a holiday.
