NEW ZEALAND RULE ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Auckland branch of the New Zealand Ride Association was hold last evening at the Drill-shed, Lieutenant-Colonel Mahou in the chair. There were about 24 members present. The chairman read the balance-sheet of the Association for the year ending the 31st March last, a copy of which had been sent to each of the members. It showed a balance of £197 Is lOd to the credit of the Association. The chairman then stated the object for which the meeting had been called, viz., to consider the proposed programme for the ensuing year, and the new Remington-Lee rifle, which it was thought would be used at the next meeting, to be held in Oamaru. The proposed alterations in the programme were read. It was suggested by the members of tho Council of the Association, at a meeting recently held at Oamaru, that the programme be divided into two stages, and that the opinion of tho individual councils should be obtained upon the subject. The question of the adoption of the new rifle was considered, and the Chairman said the using of the Remington-Lee rifle would have the effect of placing everyone on an equality. _ The deposit required for each rifle was objected to, and instead it was resolved that a member's guarantee be transferable to any other member, should the first member not be in a position to attend the meeting. It was ultimately resolved that the new rifle be used at tho next meeting of the Association in preference to the old weapon, provided a sufficient number of the new weapons be available. The various proposed new rules for conducting the association's firing meeting were then considered and with slight alterations they were adopted. Amongst the alterations were the suggestions that 1000 yards be added to the ranges in the first match in the second stags, also that in preference to the proposed district teams match the company's teams 'Watch be still retained on the programme. The time of holding the next meeting it was considered should be January, and the date be left to the Council. It was ) resolved that a nationality match be added I Jacogramme.
