CRICKET.
THE AUCKLAND REPRESENTATIVE ELEVEN. At a meeting of the Selection Committee of the Auckland Cricket Association yesterday, the eleven to represent Auckland in the forthcoming interprovincial match with Wellington was picked, The eleven is as follows:—J. Arneil, W. E. Barton, W. Beard, W. H. Hawkins, P. Lynch, A. L. Meldrum, W. Meldrnm, E. Mills, G. Mills, J. Teatro, and E. J. Yates. First emergency, A. O'Brien ; second emergency, A. D. MacCormick; umpire, Mr. J. Mumford. The above may be regarded as a representative eleven of Auckland, being particularly strong in batting and bowling, but has a decidod weakness in fielding, as no less than five of the team are not first-class in this department. In bowling there is plenty of variety, inoluding a young trundler in the person of George Mills, who has made great havoc in the principal cup matches this season. We understand that there will be no cup matches played on the ground on Saturday next, and that the day will be devoted to a practice match : say, the Eleven v. Next eighteen. The interprovincial match will be played on Easter Tuesday and Wednesday next. The Wellington Eleven will arrive here on Monday.
