MR. GLADSTONE AND HOME RULE.
[reuter's telegram,] 'J, . London, January 7. The Standard states that Mr. Gladstone is willing that the powers of hjs proposed Irish Parliament should be confined to dealing with certain specified subjects. London, January 9. The Daily News of yesterday publishes an article denying the statement made by the Standard that Mr. Gladstone was inclined to modify his Home Rule for Ireland scheme, with a view to conciliate the Unionist Liberals.
