At an extraordinary general meeting of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company to-day, it was resolved, by a large majority, "That in view of the existing freight monopoly, whioh practically limits available space as well as maintains the rate of freight, the directors be empowered to engage tonnage for $. period not exceeding two years or five voyages for each steamer in advance, to such an extent on such conditions as may seem to them most likely to meet the requirements of shippers, and facilitate the export of meat from Canterbury, the rate of freight not to exceed ljdper lb.
