DEPORTATION OF FRENCH CRIMINALS. Paris, November 18. A further batch of recidivistes, numbering five hundred, have embarked for New Caledonia. THE IMPERIAL INSTITUTE. London, November 17. The Prince of Wales has written a letter" to Sir Saul Samuel, thanking him for the prompt response (on behalf of the New South Wales Government) of exhibits for the Imperial Institute. A Press Association message says :■ — It is highly probable that the Imperial Institute will include British exhibits, thus overcoming certain objections which have been taken in the city. THREATENED HOSTILITIES IN THE SOUDAN. Alexandria, November 17. News is to hand from Wady Haifa, on the Nile, that a large body of rebels is hovering in the surrounding country. It is expected they will shortly renew hostilities. LONDON COMMERCIAL NEWSLondon, November 17. Consols have risen \ per cent., and are now lOlf. Adelaide wheat, ex store, is 365; Adelaide flour, 255; New Zealand wheat, lowest 295, highest 355. Australian beef tallow is 25s 6d, and mutton tallow 28s 6d.
