AUCKLAND ROWING ASSOCIATION.
» i A well-attended meeting of delegates to the Auckland Rowing Association was held last evening at Levineohn'a Rooms, Queenstreet Wharf. On the mot on of Mr. rtobins, seconded by Mr. Burgess, it was unanimously resolved to admit the City Rowing Club to the Association. The resignations of Messrs. A. Robins, and E. W. Burgees, hon. secretary and hon. treasurer, respectively, were read and accepted, and on the motion of Mr. Lees, seconded by Mr. McKay, Mr. J. E Cooke was unanimously elected to the secretaryship, whilst the tilling of the office of treasurer was postponed to a future meeting. It was deoided to hold an Association Regatta on Saturday, December 11, and the following races were arranged, subject to alteration :— Maiden amateur gies (under lOst), maiden gigs, maiden whaleboats, junior-senior amateur gigs, senior whaleboat?, senior bona fide gigs, senior amateur gigs, junior-senior whaleboate, and a canoe race, The names of several gentlemen were proposed as officers for the Regatta, but their election was postponed in order to ascertain whether they could accept the position. The committee conveyed to Mr. Lerinaohn its appreciation of bis kindness in placing such a suitable room at the disposal of all Athletic Clubs free of charge. A vote of thanks to the retiring secretary and treasurer for their past services concluded the meeting.
