Christchpkch, Wednesday. .At the meeting of the Hospital Board to-day a letter was received from the Inspector of Prisons stating that the Minister of Justice saw no reason to alter his opinion that delirium tremens cases could lawfully be remanded to the hospital for treatment, and that therefore such oases would not be admitted into the prisons after Maroh 31st next. The Board decided to communicate with other Hospital Boards in the colony, with the view of concerted action being taken to prevent the hospitals being need for the reception of these cases. Dunkdin, Wednesday. The proposed amalgamation of Sargood's with Ross, Glendinning, and Co. has fallen through. ______
