Co.'a stfj&mship Wairarapa arrived in hirbcur early yesterday morning from Russell, with several passengers, and at .'.loon she renamed her journey, proceeding to Southern ports and Melbourne. The three-masted schooner Waitemata sailed yesterday morning for tli« Knipara. The <-.h. Wellington, which has been lying at anchor in the stream for the past few weeka amongst the unemployed, was suddenly put into commission a(;sin yesterday, she chartered by His Worship the Mayor to proceed to Taurarsa, to the assistance of the refugees from the Rotorua district. Most promptly the Northern Co. got the vessel ready, and at 2 p.m. the Wellington steamed away from the wharf, bound on her errand of mercy. On arrival at Taurarj?™ she will bo placed at the disposal of His Worship the Mayor of Tauranga. It is expected that she will return from Tauranga this evening. The s.g. Argy'o arrived from Mercury Bay and Trtirua je»terday morning early, and left again at about 10 o'clock for her usual trip to the Great; Barrier. She returns from there this morning. The barque Northern Star is now duo from Noumea to load timber at Aratapu for Melbourne. The s.s. Gler.eig, from Tauranga and the East Coast, arrived in harbour yesterday afternoon with passengers and a large cargo, principally grain. She goes on to Whangwrei to-day.
