' The Mahurangi Literary Society held their fortnightly meeting on Wednesday last. There was a good attendance. The Rev. R. McKinney, president, occupied the chair. Two candidates were admitted members. The subject of debate was whether Napoleon or Wellington was the greater general. Mr. Holmes MoKinney opened for Wellington, And in the absence of George Thomson, Captain Erippner and others for Napoleon. After a spirited debate a vote was taken, the result being a tie.
