Our Waitakerei correspondent writes :— There is a great deal of comment respecting a new building which is going up at Swanson. Some are hinting that it is intended ultimately for a hotel, but thin is not at all probable. No license will be permitted for the next two yeara, and, from what I know of the settlers near Swanson, nearly all would object to a " drunkery" in their midst. Certainly there is not the slightest need for it, and nothiug would be more disastrous, to the prosperity of the district.
