MR. PYRE'S PATRIOTIC SONG.

[BY TELEGRAPHOWN CORRESPONDENT.] ir _ _ Dunedin, Monday. Mr. Vincent Pyke recently forwarded to Lord Rosebery a copy of his patriotic song, "The Old Flag." By to-day's mail he received the following letter of acknowledgment: " Lansdowne House, Berkeley Square, 16th July, ISSS.— Sir,—Allow me to thank you very much for the spirited and admirable verses that you have been good enough to send me. It seems to me that they have merits of their own quite apart from the sentiments expressed, and I, like you, look forward to the incorporation of the Southern Cross in the Union Jack.— Believe me, yours respectfully, Roseberv." --Vincent Pyke, Esq., M.H.R,, Dunedin, New Zealand.
