SUCCESS OF A NEW ZEALAND STUDENT.

[by TELEGRAPH. — PRESS ASSOCIATION'.j ■Wellington, Tuesday. A telegram has been received from the Agent-General to the effect that Mr. Herbert Inglis. of Canterbury College, has been successful in the competition for the Gilchrist scholarship. He is stated to be "in honours division" in the matriculation examination of the London University, and his name has been sent to the Gilchrist trustees as the winner. There were five candidates. Mr. Inglis, it is understood, is the son of Mr. John Inglis, of whose death in England intelligence recently reached this colony.
