fBY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Waioroxgomai, Monday. A large and influential meeting of householders of this town and representatives from Te Aroha was held in the schoolroom on Saturday evening last, for the purpose of discussing the desirableness or otherwise of forming some sort of local governing body here. Considerable discuvsion took place on the merits of the question as to wheteer a town district or a borough, to embrace Te Aroha and the goldnelda, should be the better system, there being some diversity of opinionupon tbesubject. The meetingeventually broke up without coming to any decision upon the matter ; bus steps are being taken to ascertain the wishes of the majority of those interested, by means of a petition which is being got up in favour of the Town Disttict Act being brought into force.
