A sweepstake (£5 a side) race between the cutters Henry, Ganuet, Mahurangi, and Kuphemia, took pluco on Jan. 31, and resulted in a win tor the Mahuratigi. The' cricket Publicanß v. Stage eventuated on the Donia-in ground on the 21st Jan., and resulted iti ! an easy victory for the licensed victuallers with ati innings and 40 runs to spare.- At the conclusion of the gauie Mr. j. C.. Seccombe played Mr. Foster, of Branston aod Foster, a single wicket match for £5.a-aidc, which the latter gentlemen won by-aa innings and a ran.
