FATAL ACCIDENT AT HENDERSON'S MILL.
Yustekluy morning intelligence wa» received at the Auckland police-station that a man named James Shaw, a respectable settler near Henderson's Mill, had been found dead under a dray which had apparently fallen on him. Mr. Shaw was engaged on Monday carting grain from the railway-station at Henderson to his farm. At about six o'clock on Tuesday morning he was found lyine under the cart by Mr. William Laurie, who with the assisUnce of two other man removed the body to tho Oratoa Hotel. The police authorities on receipt of the information at once started Trooper Kelly to arrango with Mr. A. Beetham regarding an inquest. The inquest was held at the Orate* Hotel before Mr. A. Iteotham, J. P., Acting-Coroner and • jury, of whom Mr. Hamley was chosen foreman, and after hearing Mr. Laurie's cadence and that of two other witnesses, a verdict of "Accidental death " was returned.
