[BY TKLEGIUrH. —PBESS ASSOCIATION. I Nelson, Friday. A fatal a accident occurred in Brook-afreet this evening. Four men Kail b" en at work felting a large wil'ow tree, which was being cut ten feet from tlie ground. 'I he tree was growing cl->sc to the road, ami ropes were fixed to prevent accident. At dusk, the tree being cut through, it was deemed unsafe to leave it, and lanterns were procured and the tree brought down. Dire tly afterwards, a labourer named Henry Thomas was found lying face downward near the branch of the tree, and on the arrival of the doctor the. unfortunate man was dead. Ho wis 50 years of age, and leaves a wife and sevi-n children. He had been working at the tree.
