POLICE COURT.—SATcrdAY. [Before J. E. Macdonald, Esq., R.M.J DB.UNKBXNESI.-Ono man was charged with this offonca. He had been in custody for some dava suffering from the eftectß of drink, and was discharged. -Thom* s Barry had btej charged on Friday with having no lawful visible means of sup. port. He was a bushmau who had spent his money, and was loafing about, but ho promised to clear away to Helensvilo, to his work. To give him an oppor{H?*?* ? f doing so, the case against him was remanded UiL baturday, and, as iu the meantime, he had eone away, the charge was withdrawn. Protect lo * Ordbr.—Fasny Whiteside, who had applied for a protection order against her husband, did not appear. Henry Whiteside, the husband, appeared to oppose the application. The ease was remanded till Tuesday, His Worship intimating that if Mrs. \Yhiteside d.d not then appear, the application would be dismissed.
