In the House of Commons to-day, Mr. Gladstone stated, with reference to the present situation of affairs in Egypt, that the Government considered that any discussion of the subject at the present time would be premature. The Premier, however, explained that the policy which the British Government were following aimed solely at securing ' the continuance of the existing rights in Egypt, and that Turkey was acting in harmony with the other European Powers. AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS VICTORIOUS. London, June 13. The cricket match (Australians v. Derbyshire) was resumed at Derby today, -when the visiters continued their first innings'. The attendance at the match was small, the weather being cold and inclement. The wicket was not in good order. The bowling'of the Englishmen was dead on the wicket, and the Australians were all disposed of for a total of 292. Murdoch was caught for 46; Blackham was bowled for 52; and Giffen was bowled for 47. The Home team then commenced their second innings,

but only succeeded in putting together 77. The Australians thus won the match by an. innings and 109 runs. ♦
