A RAILWAY SMASH.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION] Dckedin, Monday. At the crossing ,between Tawa and Port Chalmers, the northern express this morning ran into a cart belonging to a Chinaman. John had left his cart on the crossing, whilst he went to shut up the railway gate, and meantime the train came along. Tha horse was killed, and the cart knocked in pieces, but the engine was only slightly damaged, and the train was delayed only lor ten minutes.
