REAPING MACHINE TRIALS.
• [BV TELEGKAPH. —PBESS ASSOCIATION. J CHSieTCHiTRCB, Saturday. The following is the result of the reaper and binder trial, which was held at Burnside on Thursday, under the auspices of the Agricultural Association: —Twine binders: Wood had 124 points, Ist, gold medal; McCormick, 121 points, 2nd, recommended for the silver medal. Wood, 120 points, very highly commended. Howard, simplex, 116 points, highly commended. Harvester : Deering, 114 points; Osborne, 114 points ; Peering, 113 points ; Samuelson, 101 points ; Excelsior, 99 points. Wire binder: ilcCormick, 1(H points, Ist prize and gold medal; Aultman, 100 points, 2nd prize ; Osborne, 99 points. The work of all the machines was pronounced excellent. In the string binders Wood beat McCormick in strength and simplicity of machinery, and ease of repairing the same, and in time. McCormick wa3 superior to Wood in the nature of the sheaf cutting and delivery. The difference was very slight in all particulars.
