THE RAINFALL IN WAIKATO.

«_ ; [ntOM OUE OWS COBBESPO«fD«NT.] Hamilton, Saturday. The rain continued the wnole of yesterday up to midnight or early this morning, when a ,heavy wind set in from the north-east. More rain has fallen during the pa3t three days than has beea experienced in! Waikato ! since the great flood in December, 1875, when the Cambridge bridge was swept away. The damage done on this occasion will, however, it is feared, be far greater, coming as it has done at harvest time. Thie morning, though at present the rain holds off, there is every appearance of a change again for the worse. What damage has been done is not yet known, as few if any people were travelling, yesterday, but the intelligence brought in by the Te Aroha coach last night was that the main road had been seriously damaged in several places.
