The New Zealand Times is in a rage with Mr. Andrews for moving that next session should be held in Christchurch. The members of tho Katikati Loyal Orange Lodge celebrated the 12th of July with a social gathering at the residence of Mr. Lockington, Uretara, who had placed his house at the disposal of the lodge for that purpose. It may be of interest to many to know thatthe "standard " weights and measures have been received back from Wellington, and Sergeant Gamble, inspector of weights and measures, is now in a position to test weights and measures for traders. Among the gentlemen to deliver addresses on the occasion, we notice the name of the Rev. Thomas Forsaith, formerly of Auckland. The Samoa Times records the celebration of the festival of Corpus Christi, at the church of the French mission at Apia, and says : —" We must confess our ignorance as ,to what the processions, the genuflexions, the swaying of incense-holders, aud the other parts of the performance symbolize, but as a spectacle to attract the attention of the natives, we have no doubt it has the desired effect." ■ ■..'-.-.
